Red Moon Oct.8, 2014

Good Morning!

It was a little on the cloudy side this morning. However, I was able to get a few shots of our

Oct. Lunar Eclipse and her Red Moon.

I was very happy to get this shot.

Then the clouds came back and covered the moon for about 30 minuets.  I waited and waited in hopes of capturing the Red Moon.

In Gods perfect timing, the clouds opened up and there she was in all her glory,

The Red Moon.

She only appeared for a few moments and then she was again overcome by clouds.

Her beauty only lingering in the mind and a slightly blurred photograph.

It has been a morning well spent. One of natures moments at its best. We are truly blessed to see such wonders.

Portrait in Clay

I have always wanted to sculpt in clay, but for one reason or another I have never sculpted anything in clay until about a month ago when I sculpted a hand.

Allen is my second sculpture in clay.

I used photos of Allen as refurance while sculpting him.

Sculpting in clay has taken discipline, observation and patience.

It has also been a very humbling and spiritual experience.

Thank you Allen for being my first subject and for allowing me to sculpt you.

Thanks to Ginny Amsler for taking the photos of Allen for me.

I was so excited about the moment at 2:00 am that I forgot my tripod. That made it a little difficult to keep my camera from shaking. Luckily I will have another chance to take Lunar Eclipse Photos in October.
